The moments that test your judgement

Challenge a deadline

Examine the trade-offs and recommend what is achievable.

Escalate with a recommendation

Explain a risk clearly to someone who does not want another problem.

Negotiate competing priorities

Build commitments with stakeholders whose demands differ.

Reconnect work to value

Recognise when activity has drifted away from the intended outcome.

Understand the psychology behind the project

Think clearly under pressure

Explore cognitive load, uncertainty and assumptions. Separate evidence from interpretation before making a recommendation.

Help people raise concerns early

Explore psychological safety and how your responses affect whether people speak up. Practise inviting challenge and responding to unwelcome news.

Build meaningful commitment

Explore motivation, autonomy and ownership. Check understanding and constraints before accepting agreement.

Handle tension with awareness

Recognise emotional responses and test interpretations. Challenge an issue while maintaining trust.

Help a busy team focus

Make competing demands visible. Clarify priorities, manageable steps and useful feedback.

Learn from recurring patterns

Examine why the same handovers or decisions keep creating difficulty, then agree an improvement people can use.

Powered by the Delivery Leadership System

You’ll work on how you respond under pressure, how you work with others and how you keep projects moving. The courses draw on the Delivery Leadership System, our approach to leading projects.

Clarity

Understand what is happening.

Traction

Agree what needs to happen and keep it moving.

Transformation

Use what you learn to improve future projects.

Explore the Delivery Leadership System

One situation. Three ways to improve it.

Clarity

A deadline is becoming unrealistic. Examine the evidence, capacity and assumptions behind the commitment.

Traction

Discuss the trade-offs with the sponsor. Agree a workable response, explicit ownership and next steps.

Transformation

Review how the commitment was made. Improve the questions and checks used before future deadlines are agreed.

The three-day learning experience

Day one , Self

Thinking, pressure, assumptions and judgement.

Practise: challenge an unclear brief and decide with incomplete information.

Take away: a personal leadership plan and structured approach to decisions.

Day two , Relationships

Motivation, trust, influence and difficult conversations.

Practise: challenge a deadline, negotiate priorities and escalate with a recommendation.

Take away: a plan for working with the people involved in your project, and practice handling difficult conversations.

Day three , Productivity

Attention, priorities, ownership, feedback and delivery rhythms.

Practise: respond to a changing brief, reset commitments and lead a useful review.

Take away: a routine for planning and reviewing progress, plus a plan for using the learning over the next 30 days.

Practise an evolving project

A stakeholder changes direction. A dependency slips. A commitment becomes unrealistic. Across the three days, you examine what is happening, choose a response and practise how you would handle it.

Feedback from the trainer helps you explore the effect of your approach. Build a practical guide to leading projects as you work through the scenarios.
